ABOUT US

Dorrance was born in Delaware County, Iowa and grew up on the family farm where there was ample opportunity to hone driving skills in the pasture and corn fields. When he was old enough to drive on the road, he worked at a local feed mill and made deliveries to friends and neighbors. With a desire to help others change gears – not just careers, he opened Goldline CDL Training in 2016.

He started Goldline CDL Training to give drivers the opportunity to enter the transportation industry without hassle. The first year he had one truck and a borrowed trailer. Today, the fleet includes manual and automatic transmission trucks with trailers. He was proud to add the school bus in 2022 to help schools struggling to find drivers. 

Students should arrive able to drive a manual transmission and be able to back up a trailer. Those who do not have these skills can get a license restricted to the automatic transmission or a Class B vehicle. Even as regulations have changed the industry, our mission has remained the same - to get our students on the road to a new career and changing gears.
