Training and Exam are completed in Manchester, Iowa

STEP 1

• Must be able to read, speak and comprehend English. No interpreters are allowed.
• Must be 18 years old
• Must have basic skills including backing (for Class A) and shifting (for manual transmission)​

STEP 2

• ​Take knowledge exam(s) to get appropriate Commercial Learner Permit (CLP)​
• Permit must be hold for 14-days prior to the final examination​
• Training can start immediately

STEP 3

• Register for Theory and Driving Training

ELDT is a FMCSA Program

​FMCSA’s Entry Level Driver Training regulations set the baseline training requirements for entry-level drivers.
These requirements applies to those seeking:

Obtain a Class A or Class B
Upgrade existing Class B to Class A
Upgrade existing Class C to Class A or B
Obtain Endorsement for School Bus (S), Passenger (P), or Hazardous Materials (H)

If you've previously held a CDL you do not have to take a ELDT Course.
